2026 Mandola
Design, Aesthetics, and Playability
This model showcases an original body design accented with Ebano bindings. An Ebony armrest adds comfort and supports longer playing sessions without fatigue. The larger body and design makes this a loud and very responsive instrument.
The instrument is finished with a traditional French polish (rubbed shellac). Subtler than modern high‑gloss finishes, French polish offers superior acoustic responsiveness and beautifully highlights the natural character of the wood.
A 16‑inch (404 mm) scale length and a compounded fingerboard radius (6"–13") make the instrument notably easy to play. Combined with a zero‑fret nut and a 32 mm nut width, the setup delivers a low, comfortable action at the 12th fret—further improving playability and overall responsiveness.
Craftsmanship
Each mandola is built entirely by hand, combining traditional lutherie with modern design principles. I work on every instrument individually, from the first joint to the final polish, ensuring that each piece is unique and tailored to the needs and preferences of the musician who will play it.
